Board Responsibilities
Expectations
Purpose: To lead the organization in the fulfillment of its mission.
Term: 3 years, renewable twice Reports to: Board of Directors Meets: Fourth Tuesday of every month (except December) from 12 PM – 2 PM at the Loose Park Garden Center at W 51st Terrace and Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO. |

Major Responsibilities:
- Become a member of KCRS
- Participate in Board meetings
- Exercise fiduciary responsibility and oversight
- Participate in at least one committee or task force
- Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic and operational plans
- Participate in a minimum of 4 regular organizational events (e.g. annual luncheon, educational programs, Rose Show, Rose Day, Wine and Roses and other social events, etc.)
- Make an annual meaningful financial contribution to the organization. Your financial contribution can include donations made to:
- Wine and Roses
- Love is a Rose program
- Rose Show
- Patron donation,
- other KCRS programs or projects
- Participate in fundraising activities
- Comply with all legal requirements and maintain high ethical standards
- Be an ambassador and advocate for KCRS in the community
Qualifications:
Board members sign:
KCRS carries liability insurance on the Board directors and officers.
- Sincere interest in roses and/or in furthering the development of the Loose Park Rose Garden
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Knowledge or skills in particular content area(s)
- Willingness to be actively involved in the work of the Board
- Computer literacy
- Social media literacy

- KC Parks Volunteering Form
