May 18th will feature the winners of the Children’s Rose Garden Poetry Contest reading their winning poems, receiving their certification and awards. In addition, there will be two outstanding adult writers reading from their work.
Christine Taylor-Butler is the author of more than 95 fiction and nonfiction books for children. A graduate of MIT, she holds degrees in both Civil Engineering and Art & Design. Her current project includes the speculative sci-fi fantasy series: The Lost Tribes series, the Save The Animals series written with Chelsea Clinton.

Barbara Stuber is the author of the novels Girl in Reverse and Crossing the Tracks, which was a finalist for the American Library Association William C. Morris Debut Award, a YALSA Best Fiction for YA and a Kirkus Best Book for Teens. When not writing, she interviews incarcerated woman for Journey House, a reentry house, and is a docent at the Nelson-Atkins Museum.
